Verdict

The German-trained Wazaro steps down in class here and should have the beating of this weak-looking field with Mick Fitzgerald aboard. Although yet to win over obstacles he has good flat form winning his last two starts and will appreciate this soft surface. Carnoustie has been given many chances this season including at this level. He normally runs well but tends to find little in a finish and the selection's flat speed may be his undoing again. Madison Avenue, a winner of a claimer at Plumpton last season is another stepping down in class and is a proven soft ground performer. However his recent form has been disappointing and will find things tough at these weights.
