Verdict

Buena Vista will be at short odds for this novices' hurdle and is hard to oppose in a race where the main battle is likely to be for minor honours, with Zaffre preferred to Tuesday's Child for the forecast spot. The selection showed useful form in bumpers including at the Cheltenham Festival and made no mistake on his hurdling debut at Hereford last month. A reproduction of that effort would see him follow up in this company. Benny has shown promise in bumpers and has place claims along with winning pointer Call Out, who makes his rules debut. Good Samaritan disappointed first time out over hurdles and is probably better than he showed at Folkestone, while Tony Carroll's Letsplay would need to step up on bumper form to get into the frame. Of more interest for the forecast spot would be Henrietta Knight's Tuesday's Child, who had the misfortune to come up against the selection at Hereford as well but the most likely danger to Buena Vista has to be Zaffre, who has already won a race over hurdles and showed her Fontwell success was no fluke when a creditable third behind Common Girl at Fakenham last time. Buena Vista has an obvious chance though and is hard to oppose.
