In depth

Verdict

Not a race that will take much winning and Lesath is the obvious choice to give James Fanshawe his first winner of the turf campaign. The son of Mister Baileys showed useful form in three juvenile starts last year and it will be surprising if this 86-rated three-year-old cannot make the most of a straight forward opportunity to open his account. Island Lady showed little on her sole start last year but is open to some improvement while Ma Cherie makes some appeal on breeding and her stable had a high profile winner at last week's Newmarket Craven meeting so she could go well on her debut in a race that lacks strength in depth.
