In depth

Verdict

Very few of these are in good form at present, but one who fits the bill is dual course and distance winner Prideway. Even though Mark Brisboune's mare has a penalty to shoulder, she is still well in compared to her handicap mark in the past, where she has won off a 20lbs higher mark. It is significant that she turns out quickly after winning by a wide margin at Wolverhampton, as the Handicapper is sure to raise her by more than the extra 6lbs she carries in this. The maiden Yavari may provide the biggest danger. She has put together a couple of decent efforts lately and is clearly on good terms with herself. Star Princess has more to do than when beating professional loser Sorbiesharry over course and distance, but that was a big step up on anything she had shown to date and may be capable of further progress. Puppet Play has gone well fresh in the past and isn't out of this at her best, while Dahlidya has yet to prove she stays this far. Four times a winner as a juvenile, Villa Del Sol has struggled since, but if she retained half of what she showed as a youngster, she is thrown in.
