The first division of a truly desperate affair filled with moderate and disappointing animals but something has to finish first past the post. A tentative vote goes to Giust In Temp who can continue his trainer's fine recent spell. The Peter Hiatt-trained colt was below his best last time but had twice previously finished runner-up in maidens including a handicap and is taken to bounce back to form under his well regarded young pilot. My Bayard is an obvious danger having been runner-up on five of his last six outings but is a frustrating character and clearly not an easy horse to win with. Dark Dolores has some useful turf form in the context of this race and hails from an in-form yard but has been absent since July and is best watched while Red Flyer may be better suited by this trip rather than further and has place claims.
