Verdict

Crisp Note, Gran Dana and Royal Axminster are three against the field in another desperate affair and the vote is given to Crisp Note. The selection was a fair fourth on his debut behind Lingari and although he has shown very little of late he is taking a massive drop in class and in the hope that he acts on the surface he could be the value bet in an open affair. Gran Dana rates the main danger on his latest sixth behind Mad Maurice especially as the step up in trip looks sure to suit. Royal Axminster is another worthy of respect on his best form as he looks ridiculously well handicapped but he has looked a shadow of his former self of late so he can not be put forward with any confidence. Blueberry Hill is another that is well weighted on his best form and goes well over course and distance so he has definite place claims while East Cape represents shrewd connections and is another to note in the market but in a race that throws up more questions than answers for the winner we return to Crisp Note.
