Vancouver Gold took advantage of the favourable terms to land a seller over course and distance last term and has more to do back in a handicap today so preference is for Golden Spectrum, who gets the vote ahead of Pawn In Life. The last mentioned has claims on the form shown when landing a seven furlong handicap here a week ago but disappointed over today's trip on Sunday in a banded race and may not be one to trust implicitly. Tony Newcombe's Majehar ran better at Lingfield last time but has yet to prove his effectiveness on the Fibresand, while Mulberry Lad is probably better over shorter. Sriology has had little respite from the handicapper and a better bet looks to be Golden Spectrum, who won his second banded race of the winter over course and distance on Sunday and on that evidence he looks worth chancing despite his penalty.
