Verdict

A race that should take little winning and the vote goes to Bowles Patrol. John Upson's gelding has struggled in the main this term but has slipped down the handicap as a consequence and showed a return to form last time. The son of Roselier finished a close fourth over this trip at Catterick yet has been dropped a further 2lb and should take the beating with conditions in his favour. Little Brown Bear has a good record on this track but is 12lb higher than his course and distance success last year and returns from an absence of over five months so is probably best watched on this occasion. Master Club Royal has proved disappointing since his course and distance victory in November and is best in the mud while Deneises Blossom has plenty to find from out of the handicap.
