Verdict

An intriguing contest where narrow preference is for DIVERS who has a recent run for fitness under his belt; the shortlist of dangers is headed by Echo Point and Cast Iron Casey. The selection never looked like featuring on a recent comeback at Carlisle. Although his strike-rate leaves a little to be desired, he was generally progressive as a novice last season and the stable are just starting to find some form. Cast Iron Casey also had a good year and he was a valiant winner at Kelso last time out. His very best runs have arguably come over two miles, however he has won at this trip when chasing here before and looks an obvious player. Bijou Dan has a little to prove after his last run however he should come on for the run and along with Pagan Starprincess he gives trainer George Moore a strong hand. Pemberton was last seen in January when pulling up behind Walkon at Cheltenham but his yard are in good form and he looks intriguing, whilst course winner Echo Point receives little respite from the handicapper but cannot be overlooked despite top-weight. Quincey Des Pictons and Farmers Cross were both in good form when seen half a year ago, Brackenmoss drops in grade and encounters handicaps for the first time, whilst Moves Goodenough has stamina to prove and also well-being after a poor season on the flat. A very open race however it is Divers who can lead them home.
