A field large in numbers but low in quality goes to post for this beginners chase but the principals look to be Romil Star, Quincy's Perk and Red Society and the vote goes to the last named. The gelding from the Ferdy Murphy yard was a fair fifth behind Grattan Lodge last time and a reproduction of that effort should be good enough here. Quincy's Perk was second behind Metal Detector at Doncaster last time but the form looks dubious as many of the fancied contenders fell in that race. Romil Star was a fair third in a handicap hurdle behind Touch Closer last time and he is sure to have been well schooled for this his chase debut so he is worth noting in the market. Of the remainder Northern Flash is game and consistent and again has place claims but for the winner we return to Red Society.
