Verdict

This is another competitive contest in which Wolfe Tone, Alcazar and Fight Your Corner form the shortlist and the vote is given to Alcazar. The selection is an out-and-out stayer who will be suited by the step-up in trip after a slightly disappointing effort over 1m6f at York last time. His last two wins have come over today's trip and with conditions to suit today he looks to have a leading chance. Wolfe Tone won in good style at Newbury last month when beating Gulf and he is well-regarded by his connections. He remains unexposed and is one to note in the market but he tackles this trip for the first time today and he still has plenty to prove. Fight Your Corner is the Godolphin representative and he ran in a Group1 in Dubai last time in which he finished last. He has to be respected in this company but others are preferred today. Darasim is game and consistent and he could be interesting if he gets the race run to suit, but for the winner we will stick with Alcazar.
