An open race in which there appears to be plenty of pace; of the many candidates our short-list has been reduced to TWILIGHT STAR, Annes Rocket and Lastkingofscotland. Roger Teal has saddled three winners from his last eight runners and it's to be hoped that that form rubs off on Twilight Star who disappointed when last seen. He had run well prior to that though, is well handicapped on his best form, has won twice for Ted Durcan and twice at this track. Annes Rocket produced a telling turn of foot to win a similar contest impressively at Salisbury and has been given a chance with just a 4lb rise for that success but there is a doubt as to whether this track will show him in his best light. Lastkingofscotland has run well on both starts since joining this yard from a Redcar seller and may benefit from his usual blinkers being swopped for a visor. Many more go to post with live claims but Twilight Star may be able to eclipse them all.
