With both running off the same mark here, Spirit's Awakening can get the better of Lifted Way once again, with Pagan Prince also likely to go very well. Spirit's Awakening receives the same 18lb from Lifted Way that enabled him to finish one-and-three-quarter lengths in front of that rival over seven furlongs no good to soft here recently. With the step up in trip no problem for either of them and conditions underfoot again the same, John Akehurst's charge can step up to the mark and take this prize, and he looks well handicapped here. Lifted Way is due to drop in the weights, a tell tale sign in itself, but he is still expected to go well enough here to be involved at the finish. Of the others, Pagan Prince makes appeal. He is at home with some cut, sees out this trip well and has course and distance form on his CV. However, he comes here after a long break and has tended to need a run, so he is just passed over this time. For the winner then, we return to Spirit's Awakening.
