Verdict

A few fillies that are enjoying the brisk spring air here and the tentative vote goes to April Pride. The selection showed a good attitude to score on her debut at Bath, having raced up with the pace and then pulling out plenty to narrowly get on top at the line. Whilst she was evidently straight enough that day, she looks sure to have learnt plenty from that run and with a useful claimer taking five pounds off her back, a big run looks on the cards. Sally's Dilemma was never at the races last time out but she may appreciate this less testing ground and should not be overlooked (favourite last time), whilst Calypso Girl improved from first to second runs and can only go on from here. All three of the newcomers must have been showing ability at home to be starting off at this level, the most interesting of which looks to be Flawless Diamond who is related to several two-year-old winners. It would be no surprise to see any of these winning, however Richard Hannon can win this race for the fifth time in seven years with April Pride.
