Chris Grant has his string in red hot form at present and JEU DE ROSEAU can give him another success in this stayers' handicap, with Harcas and Simple Jim potential dangers. This is a moderate contest that should not take too much winning and our pick has outstanding claims. In addition to the form of the stable, he stays extremely well as he did when scoring over two miles at Newcastle last time, and he acts on a sound or fast surface. He has gone up 8lbs for that latest success but he looks capable of following up. Harcas and Simple Jim have both already enjoyed course and distance wins. The former is now back on a mark 2lb lower than that victory, which came in August, so Martin Todhunter's gelding has to be considered. Simple Jim is only 2lbs higher than when landing a similar race last month, and he too has to be hugely respected on his return. Both go on the ground and should be bang there. Sea Land will find this tougher than the Catterick seller he won a couple of starts back, and with little else appealing we will side with Jeu De Roseau.
