A wide open handicap rounds off proceedings with many in form rivals in opposition including Hout Bay Pips Magic and Torrent and we will take a chance on Hout Bay. The six year old has dropped to a fair mark and with conditions in his favour and from a good draw he will be hard to beat having shown signs of a return to form when fifth behind Catch The Cat Last time. Pips Magic rates the main danger he was a fair fourth behind Johnston's Diamond last time but that was with cut in the ground and he has not been as effective on this much faster surface of late. Torrent is another worthy of respect he is thrown in on his best form but he has not won for a while and for that reason we will oppose him on this occasion. Of the remainder Brecongill Lad and The Old Soldier won in good style last time out but will find this much more difficult under their penalties so we are happy to side with Hout Bay.
