A competitive field goes to post for this handicap and the main protagonists appear to be Penny Cross, Top Dirham and Rifleman and we will take a chance on Top Dirham. The gelding is still well weighted on his best form of a couple of seasons ago and although he was slightly disappointing last time out that was over seven furlongs. With the step back up in trip sure to suit he will be hard to beat with conditions again in his favour. Penny Cross rates the main danger she has been in fair form of late and a reproduction of her latest second behind Welcome Stranger would see her go close. Rifleman is also worthy of respect he was a fair third last time out at this track behind Into The Breeze and with the step up in trip sure to suit he is another with definite place claims. Raphael has dropped to a handy mark but his best form of late has come with more cut in the ground so for that reason he is opposed on this occasion. Of the remainder Machinist and Camelot are from shrewd yards and are worth noting in the market but we are happy to stick with Top Dirham.
