A typically tricky race to get to grips with to bring the card to a close at Pontefract but Acomb caught the eye in defeat last time and is given a chance to make amends here. Hulla Blallew, Northern Friend and the consistent Leonor De Soto will not go down without a fight though, and this may just go right down to the wire. However, Acomb has enough early pace to burn off the disadvantage of a wide draw and will be difficult to peg back if the hill finds out the likes of Scraps and the penalised Hulla Ballew near the finish. Leonor De Soto will be keeping on when others have cried enough but she simply may not be good enough to concede weight to Acomb and reel him in today.
