        Verdict

        Tycheros is our pick in a tough staying-handicap with Turtle Soup and Farne Isle rated the main dangers. Tycheros stepped up in class last time at Kempton and can return to winning ways now he returns to this grade. He is also reunited with the more than capable Saleem Golam who takes off three pounds. He had looked a progressive type when winning back-to-back Lingfield handicaps over this distance and if he handles the ground he should be capable of winning here. Turtle Soup is best known for his exploits over hurdles where he is rated in the 140's. He won a soft ground Newbury-handicap in May 2000 off a two-pound higher mark and he is not without his chances today. Farne Isle is another who will be fit following a jumps campaign but she is yet to win a flat race and others are preferred. It's almost ten years since Jamaican Flight first won a race and the veteran stayer is sure to run well in a race named in his honour. Our selection in the staying handicap remains Tycheros.
