Cordilla can defy topweight here, with Huka Lodge and For Your Ears Only expected to take a hand in proceedings as well. Cordilla, owned by Trevor Hemmings, lined up in search of a hat-trick at Haydock, having scored at Ayr and Carlisle previously, but was pulled up as though something was amiss before the final flight. The suspicion is that he found the ground a bit too lively and so it is to be hoped that conditions do not dry out any more. Even so, he should just about hold For Your Ears Only Again on only slightly worse terms for the length and a half that separated them at Carlisle in February, and a bigger danger may be Huka Lodge who has been in form since returning from a break. It is hard to see any of the others making an impression although the market should be watched for Masters of War. Other than that, Cordilla has fairly obvious claims and should go close to returning to winning ways.
