Verdict

With Lincoln Dean and Quizzical both looking moderate types this should lie between the other three, all of whom have claims. Ambushed, a useful performer on the level has to be respected now that he is dropped in grade but would need to be at the top of his game to trouble the other two - if either is at their best. Peartree House is a capable performer on his day as he showed when winning at Plumpton in April. However, the gelding is not always the most reliable of sorts and is not one to trust implicitly so the TEAMtalk vote goes to Xaipete. Easily the best of these on official BHB ratings, Norman Mason's hurdler/chaser has been off the course for some time but this is a soft assignment for his comeback and if anywhere near his best the 10-year-old should be too good for these.
