          Verdict

          Academy has hit a rich vein of form having won four of his last five starts and may still be sufficiently ahead of the handicapper to defy a further 2lb rise for his latest success at Pontefract. Andrew Turnell's charge is the TEAMtalk pick in a weak contest. Best Port has been struggling this term and still looks high enough in the weights while Fast Cindy appears very one-paced. Kaparolo should appreciate the step up to this trip but has something to prove after a dismal performance at Goodwood on his handicap bow last month. Vert Espere is a useful hurdler who can improve on his form in maidens over shorter while High Policy was far from disgraced in better company last time and also rates a danger.
