        Verdict

        True Companion has to be the pick here, Libre and Smart John appear to be the obvious dangers. Nick Littmoden's six-year-old pulverised a decent handicap field at Doncaster last week, coming home five lengths clear of Lucayan Dancer. He gives away weight all round here but is up against mainly out of form performers and looks a good thing to land the spoils. Libre has been in great form throughout the winter and if he can transfer that ability back to the turf he should cause the selection some anxious moments. Smart John landed a modest Warwick handicap last season and then contested some better events without too much success. This could be more his level and he should make it into the places. Nantucket Sound may prove best of the others, but the way True Companion won last time suggests he could rattle up a sequence.
