In depth

Verdict

Mick Channon has already hit the mark with his juveniles and Bold Cross can add to his tally, Owners Biscuits and Ace Baby may prove best of the remainder. This colt is nicely bred by Cape Cross out of a Persian Bold mare. He cost 40 thousand guineas as a yearling, and although he is not the oldest in the race he should be well forward enough do do himself justice. Owners Biscuits is the other newcomer that catches the eye. Mark Johnston's filly is by Diktat out of a bluebird mare so should have bags of speed. Ace Baby is the only runner with racecourse experience. He was a promising fourth behind Aboyne at Yarmouth last week. The form has taken a knock with the runner up flopping on Monday, but Ace Baby did run very green and should come on leaps and bounds. Rod Millman has his juveniles in good form so his two runners Bathwick Prince and Thomas Of Bathwick should be monitored in the betting. However Bold Cross looks the best on paper and gets our vote.
