L'Ange Au Ciel may have a bright future over fences and is taken to oblige ahead of Freddy Crystal and Briar. L'Ange Au Ciel has been described by Paul Nicholls as one of his most exciting French imports, having won both his starts there. A classy sort, the four-year-old could have probably won a decent hurdle race, but instead goes fencing straight away, and on the evidence of his home work, should prove hard to beat. Freddy Crystal also had form in the French provinces, and was placed second on the first of his two outings over fences. His form does not match the selections though. Briar makes his chase debut after a spin on the all-weather to get him fit. His stable know how to get them ready and he should go well. With the Nicky Henderson yard ticking over nicely, Tanikos, another French import, is worth a mention. He ran in the Triumph Hurdle but has a better future over the larger obstacles. On this occasion though, L'Ange Au Ciel should prove too sharp.
