In depth

Verdict

Montecito, Tcherina and Caribbean Pearl are the three to consider here and preference is for Tim Easterby¿s Tcherina. Montecito beat Spinning Coin at Haydock in July on a fast surface but was just touched off at Bath last time on easier ground. He looks sure to go well. After a promising debut at Epsom, Caribbean Pearl won a little race at Newcastle in fine style but this looks harder and he is passed over. Tcherina loves to get her toe in and she can do that here. She won in tenacious fashion at York last time and although that was an apprentice handicap, she had earlier been narrowly defeated in a better race at the same track. Tcherina can win again.
