Some well-bred newcomers in opposition and, as ever in this type of event, the market will provide the biggest clues. Sir Michael Stoute continues in excellent form and the Freemason Lodge handle is doubly represented with Grandalea and Quiff, who both hold an engagement in the Fillies Mile. The former is a Grand Lodge filly related to former juvenile Pattern race winner Red Camellia and can be expected to go close under Kieren Fallon while Quiff also makes plenty of appeal on breeding being by Sadler's Wells out of a 1,000 Guineas heroine and it wouldn't be a surprise if she proved talented enough to score at the first time of asking. John Gosden saddles Grand Apollo, another daughter of Grand Lodge who holds entries in both the Cheveley Park as well as the Fillies Mile so has to be feared while Why Dubai also enters calculations. Richard Hannon's filly shaped with plenty of promise on her debut in a well-contested maiden at Newbury earlier in the month and should appreciate the extra furlong so can be expected to go close with the experience behind her.
