A competitive handicap where we take Angus Newz to follow up her recent Leicester win from Trafalgar Bay, Scarlet Knight and Blushing Thief. The selection was impressive when winning on ground on the soft side of good last time, but connections are bullish about her prospects for the season and come here before a possible tilt at Group company at Baden Baden later in the month. She has plenty of speed and is said to be suited by anything but genuine firm ground, so we expect another big run from this improving sort here. Trafalgar Bay was very consistent last season and reappears here. Frankie Dettori was on board when the colt won readily at Newbury last backend and Sylvester Kirk is capable of readying one to win first up so he is respected. Scarlet Knight showed his wellbeing with a battling performance to be just outgunned at Kempton on his reappearance and with a bit more expected now that the cobwebs have been blown off he comes into contention before a trip to Dubai. There are one or two others with some form of claim here including Blushing Thief, who got the better of Scarlet Knight in that Kempton contest, and is just 1lb worse off here, so it should again be a tight call between that pair, but Angus Newz is on the upgrade and we take the filly to land this prize.
