Verdict

Some old rivals renew acquaintances in the Victor Chandler European Free Handicap and splitting them on their juvenile form is a little bit of a guessing game because of the step up in trip. Membership appears to be suited by a truly run seven furlongs and holds strong claim if he runs up to his best. However, he faces no easy task in under a 5lb penalty for winning a moderate contest at Lingfield last month, and may be worth taking on. He will struggle to reverse Kempton form with Sir Edwin Landseer, who is a genuine sort and should cope with the step up in trip. But preference is for Indian Haven, who is much better then his form figures suggest. He is still unexposed and a sure-fire improver at this trip on his pedigree. Tizzy May failed to stay on his only try at seven furlongs last term and may be best watched on his seasonal debut.
