Selective suggested that his turn might not be far away when two lengths behind Nashaab at York last week and is fancied to reverse form on 5lb better terms with Unshakable rated the best of the remainder. The selection has had his problems but Ed Vaughan has been patient with the son of Selkirk for who the ground has come right just as he begins to run into form. He is taken to belatedly open his account for the campaign. Nashaab obviously has to be respected but does not have the assistance of Kieren Fallon today who gave him such an inspired ride on the Knavesmire as the Champion Jockey is claimed by Sir Michael Stoute for the ride on the frustrating Fremen. Top weight Thajja will not mind the ground and has to be respected despite the burden of 9st 4lb. Willie Muir's Impeller has claims on his best but that has been on a faster surface and of more interest may be the two Barry Hills-trained three-year-olds at the bottom end of the handicap Kamanda Laugh and Oman Gulf. Selective looks to be running into form at the right time though and with ground conditions to suit he gets the vote for his in form yard.
