In depth

Verdict

Frankie Dettori has struck up a good relationship with Jonny Ebeneezer this term but is claimed for Godolphin's Country Reel here and, while the four-year-old has claims, preference is for Ashdown Express who is taken to confirm last year's superiority over Royal Millennium. The selection beat Mick Channon's gelding by half-a-length last term and is now 4lbs better in at the weights. Recent efforts suggest that Chris Wall's five-year-old should have no problems with the ground and he is taken to resume winning ways. John Akehurst's horses have been running much better of late so Mac Love has to be respected but he may struggle under his penalty and of more interest may be the three-year-old Moss Vale who bounced back to form when chasing home Royal Millennium at The Curragh last time. With Jeremy Noseda's string in fine form at present Twilight Blues has to be respected and is another worthy of a mention along with David Chapman's Quito but Ashdown Express holds solid claims of following up last year's success and is taken to win again.
