Verdict

Sweet Hollow is sure to attract plenty of attention as are Crimson Ribbon and Galilean Moon but we'll go in search of greater reward by siding with DARK QUEST who should be a bigger price than that trio. Sweet Hollow and Crimson Ribbon are the only two fillies in the line-up to currently hold Group entries and their debut runs were full of promise. Clive Cox's filly showed up well in a Doncaster maiden won by Leocorno and she is related to a winner at around this trip so there is some hope that she'll stay this far. As a half-sister to Bronze Cannon, Crimson Ribbon is a cast iron stayer and she caught the eye staying on strongly at Wolverhampton; the winner of that race had finished a head in front of Sweet Hollow at Doncaster. Galilean Moon never featured at Sandown but the winner of that maiden ran second in the Musidora and it wouldn't be a great surprise were this expensive purchase to leave that form behind. Dark Quest is out of the Irish Oaks winner Pure Grain and seems certain to step up on the form of her debut run at Newbury where she ran green but stayed on well after a slow start. This longer trip will be in her favour and the form of the race received a boost with the performance of Phillipina at Chester. Ramora boasts a decent pedigree and an even more impressive price tag so is well worth considering but we'll take a chance with Dark Quest.
