    Verdict

After some creditable placed efforts it is surprising that the handicapper has dropped Tizzy May 1lb but the son of Highest Honour may again have to settle for minor honours with Brave Call getting the vote over Richard Hannon's colt and James Caird. The last mentioned is on a hat trick following two successes at Pontefract last month but a 15lb rise since then may just anchor the Mark Tompkins-trained gelding. Top weight El Coto has claims on his best but is a far from certain stayer and we prefer to side with Brave Call. Admittedly the John Hills-trained colt tackles 1m2f for the first time but the longer distance should suit the son of Theatrical, who lost no caste in defeat in the Britannia at the Royal meeting when last seen. Lightly raced after just four career starts and from a stable coming back into form, Brave Call gets the vote.
