A cavalry charge in prospect and it may pay to follow a filly in-form at this stage of the season. One who fits the bill is Appleacre, who showed improvement when stepped up to this trip on her latest effort. She is a big, long striding filly and would not have been seen to best effect around the sharp Wolverhampton circuit. This galloping track should see her in a better light and she is taken to defy her rise in the weights. No shortage of dangers including the consistent Alpha Rose, who is proven in conditions and has won and been second at this meeting over the last two years. Intangible will find this grade more to her liking having tackled Listed company last time. She was not disgraced that day and if she stays this trip, she must be a danger to all, while others to consider are E Minor, who didn't quite get home last time and handicap debutante Katandi, who is out of a mare that won with plenty of give underfoot and she too will appreciate softer ground.
