Canford (IRE) can't be any more than a tentative each-way selection in a race that throws up a number of imponderables. It's more of a race to watch with an eye to the future. At least the selection will come here fit after a pipe-opener 11 days ago. On the pick of his form he has claims. A number of others also hold claims, including King Spinner, lightly-raced and Pat Eddery booked, Junikay, who has form enough to go well but might need this, Achilles Sky, still on a winning mark and has been gelded, Scheming, lightly-raced and at the right end of the handicap, and Sweet Reward, who is capable of running well off his current mark. But it's a tricky one.
