Despite dropping back in trip and having a penalty to carry, Cleaver has an obvious chance here but the Lady Herries-trained gelding is unlikely to represent much in the way of value and a chance is taken on the fitness of Street Life, with Parnassian rated the best of the rest. The selection is at his best over 1m2f with plenty of cut in the ground and Willie Musson's gelding gets the vote in the hope that the forecast rain arrives; should it do so then his likely odds could be worth taking. Border Edge showed something like his best here last time and has to be respected on that evidence, while Alasil has claims on Chepstow form two starts ago but has disappointed either side of that. The lightly raced Junior and the similarly unexposed Kyles Prince are others to consider although a bigger threat may come from Jonathan Geake's soft ground performer Parnassian, who was good value for his win at Windsor last time. Street Life is hard to back with confidence after an absence but, if the rain arrives, he may be worth an investment at potentially rewarding odds.
