There are some interesting newcomers here including Marozi, Edge Closer and Thunderbolt Jaxon but Barry Hills looks to hold a strong hand with preference for his representative Miss Lucifer, who is marginally preferred to stablemate Princess Valerina. The last mentioned ran with promise when a good second on her Windsor debut but those in behind looked a moderate bunch that day and she may prove to be best watched in a seemingly better contest today. The Michael Jarvis-trained Marozi is well bred but may want a faster surface, while Richard Hannon's Edge Closer may want more time. A market move for Peter Chapple-Hyam's Thunderbolt Jaxon may be of some interest although the yard is hardly known for their readiness of producing one to win first time out. A similar comment applies to Brian Meehan's Fabine, who makes plenty of appeal under conditions that suit but she should do better with more time and preference is for Miss Lucifer, who did nothing wrong on her debut and is taken to learn from that and open her account here.
