Verdict
King Joshua stepped up on his debut effort when a fair third at Ascot last time and has to be respected on that evidence but Gerard Butler's string has not been in the best of form of late and it may to look elsewhere with preference for El Dececy, who gets the vote ahead of Paceman. The last mentioned showed promise in a race for newcomers at Ascot last time but the form of that contest may not amount to a great deal. Marcus Tregoning's Aqaleem is bred for stamina and may do better over further next season, while Amanda Perrett's Like To Golf is likely to need more time. El Dececy was, like many of the yard's two-year-olds, given a quiet introduction at Goodwood recently and John Dunlop's colt should have learned from that experience.
