This poor contest can go to Venir Rouge, with Sharmy and Paraguay seen as the main dangers. None of these contenders should be entrusted with the mortgage money, that is for sure, and only the smallest of votes goes to Venir Rouge, who at the age of three, has a bit more scope than most of his moderate rivals. Runner-up at Chepstow over a mile on rain-softened ground the time before last, he has to prove that he stays 10-furlongs, but in Sofie Langvad, he has one of the best lady riders on board, and that must count for something. The Norwegian currently leads the Fegentrie series by a country mile, and is taken to rattle up a few more points here. It is hard to fancy Paraguay on latest form, but he did once appear to have a bright future when with Mick Channon, while of the remainder, Serena Brotherton rides Sharmy, and this fully exposed dual-purpose performer will at least be staying on at the finish. Venir Rouge has more to offer than the rest, and is lumbered with the vote.
