Azurine in given a narrow vote in a wide open contest, Apache Nation and Mandarin Rocket could provide most danger. Mark Johnson is finally firing in the winners and Azurine has shown enough to warrant plenty of respect in this contest. You can ignore her last effort at Ayr when tailed off on the soft and she is much better judged on her previous effort on better ground. She rallied really gamely to make a race of it with Secret Liaison and if showing the same courage today she will be hard to beat. Apache Nation hit winning form here earlier this month, just getting the better of English City in a driving finish. The slight drop in trip shouldn't be a problem and he looks set for more prize money. Mandarin Rocket has shown plenty of ability against better opposition in handicaps and maidens and could get into the frame at a decent price. The best of the others could be Esoterica, but the form of the yard sways us towards Azurine.
