The ground is the key to Chevalier Bayard and it would be no surprise to see him bounce back to form today. However, he has endured plenty of problems over the years and comes into the race with a little to prove on his recent form. Stone Cold has also become expensive to follow and looks to have a bit to find with a couple of today's rivals. Not least Dene View, if he can build on his latest effort at Doncaster. He is adaptable with regard to his best trip and should be involved in the shake-up here. All that said, Chergan makes more appeal as he returns to a more suitable trip and he can reverse recent form with Indien Du Boulay 7lb better terms here.
