Craig O'Donoghue rode a lovely waiting race in front when successful on Furnace over a mile on the opening day of the Carnival but isn't certain to be allowed to dominate this time. Paschendale, who finished runner-up, will be better suited by the longer trip and can take his revenge as can third-placed Masaalek, who stayed on strongly from the rear. Uptown Guy, who finished sixth, was held up and never threatened but much more is expected this time. STREET ACT was given a fine ride by his Japanese jockey two weeks ago and the assessor certainly hasn't gone to town with just a 4lb rise. Regular pilot Royston Ffrench takes over and he can again see off the challenges of Profondo Rosso and Red Eyes, who occupied the places, and complete a double.
