In depth

Verdict

Kal Barg has won twice over this C&D and can go well. He only ran three times last season, ending the campaign in January when running moderately when favourite for a much better race than this. Zain Shamardal is very consistent and will probably start a short price but is worth taking on as he generally needs his opening run of a new campaign. His stablemate ROCHDALE began last season in top form completing a double including this race. Consequently he was aimed at a much higher grade and didn't pull it off but back in his correct class and an absence no concern he's taken to start the season with his eighth all-weather success. Wonder Lawn was in tremendous form here in the spring of last year but ran poorly on his only start last season and is probably best watched.
