A disappointing turnout with no entry from the Mike De Kock yard but that shouldn't concern Godolphin who have a strong hand via GAMILATI and Pimpernel. The former, who landed the Group 2 Cherry Hinton at Newmarket in July, burst onto the UAE scene with an impressive victory in the trial at the beginning of the Carnival where she had Alsindi almost 3l behind and Mary Fildes a further 5l away. The latter looks certain to do better but is hardly likely to reverse form with the winner as she was also behind Pimpernel at HQ in October and it's the second Godolphin entry who looks the main threat. Moon Spun, the only southern hemisphere entry, hasn't been seen since touched off in a Group 2 at Scottsville last May.
