In depth

Verdict

BADGER FOOT may be able to record back to back successes by getting the better of Sea Venture and North Island amongst others. The last named has plenty to prove given the length of time that he has been off the track but Peter Bowen has his string in great form at present and it would be no surprise if he were fit enough to do himself justice. The handicapper's given him a chance and he's one to be interested in at this level. Sea Venture has held his form well this season and has been pretty consistent to boot and he could be hard to keep out of the frame if posting a similar performance this afternoon. Stablemate Lawaaheb is worth considering with Liam Heard in the plate but preference is for Badger Foot who won easily on his second outing over fences at Hereford. He may not have achieved a great deal that day but he did the job in good style and seemed to appreciate the better ground and looks capable of following up from just 2lbs higher.
