Smiths Landing can make fitness count over Eurotrek, with the rest hardly worth a mention. In what looks a two-horse race on paper, Smiths Landing is taken to make up for his recent fall at Cheltenham in what was on paper a better race than this. Sue Smith's charge was still in with a chance when coming to grief at the seventh, the placings in the end filled by Ollie Magern and Comply Or Die. He will be unfortunate to run into two such smart novices again soon and should add to his earlier back-to-back successes at Worcester. In addition, prior to his fall, he chased home Vodka Bleu here at Market Rasen, and should be capable of giving weight and a beating to Eurotek who was a one-time decent hurdler for Robert Alner. It is asking a lot for him to come back with a bang though, and he is best watched on his chasing debut. The other four runners have nothing to recommend them, and it really is hard to oppose Smiths Landing.
