Gentle Response could be the answer to another poor contest, with Dial Square, Single Track Mind and Shirley Oaks also worth a mention. Gentle Response came good over the course and distance three weeks ago when she bolted up on only her third start for her new stable. That was no surprise as she had posted two good efforts since leaving Chris Dwyer, so the change of scenery has obviously done the trick. A similar performance here should be enough with Simon Whitworth once again in the saddle. Single Track Mind has a top jockey on board and can play a part in proceedings if not getting too far behind and meeting trouble as he does tend to do, while Dial Square, one of two runners to benefit from the age allowance, has winning form to his name and should run well here, although the return to a mile will suit him better in future. Shirley Oaks was just touched off over six furlongs last time and is of interest as well, but Gentle Response was so impressive when last seen that she has to be supported to follow up.
