      Verdict

Western Sky was easy to back on her debut and ran very green, there should be plenty of improvement to come and she is taken to beat Elated and Gus. Jeremy Noseda's filly is superbly bred daughter of Barathea and after a very slow start stayed on well to take fourth. That was over six furlongs and this step up in trip is very much in her favour. Gus showed a first sign of form when a close up fourth in a hot looking maiden here earlier this month and as with the selection he has scope for further progression. Elated is an interesting newcomer from a top yard and any market move would be significant. The best of the rest could be Ameeq, but he is very exposed and so we return to Western Sky as our idea of the winner.
