A wide open maiden here but Alchemist Master, who won last time out only to be disqualified and placed last, is taken to score. The gelding from the Richard Whitaker yard will be hard to beat if he reproduces that effort as this looks an easier maiden. Coronado Forest rates the main danger. He was a fair second behind Eagle Thyme in a bumper in Ireland last time out over a mile and two furlongs. The gelding has placed form on different ground on turf so he should cope with the surface. Jahangir was fifth behind Tuscarora last time out, and if that horse wins the first race the form will have been well franked and he will have every chance. True Companion is from a yard in top form but he is becoming disappointing. The colt from the Nick Litmoden stable has had many chances in similar contests but he finds precious little off the bridle. Of the remainder, Lord Lahar is from a top yard but has appeared tripless on both outings. Florian would also have a chance on his best form but he was very disappointing last season. However the Philip Mitchell yard was under a cloud last season and it would be no surprise if he showed improved form with his stable back amongst the winners of late. The remainder need to improve significantly on their latest form to take a hand in the finish.
