      Verdict

      Grand Gold is dropped in class for his first start since 2012 but will likely need a longer trip to show his best. That comment also applies to Bert The Alert and Hail Tiberius, who are closely matched on their running in a seller over 2m here a fortnight ago. After The Storm is not easily overlooked on his handicap debut and Maison Brillet drops another 3lb in the weights, but it's worth sticking with WAVING. The latter waved goodbye to his rivals to land the odds in good style here last week and Joey Haynes' allowance negates most of a 6lb penalty.
